So firstly to start off I would like to give everyone a little bit of an insight into the aim of this blog and more the the point the propose of creating it in the first place. With this blog I am trying to achieve a digital presence within Enterprise 2.0 and more specifically the uses of Web 2.0 by individuals and organizations. But what is the best way to describe Enterprise 2.0? Obviously you will have some idea on the basics as you are on this blog but the best description that i have come across is: "...unleashing chaos in the office, but when done right, this chaos cuts the bonds keeping employees from good communication and boosts overall productivity." (webtrends.about.com/od/office20/a/enterprise-20.htm)
So what can you expect to get out of reading and of course following this blog? Well primarily i plan on being able to address issues around Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 and how to use these to there best potential, whether it is for personal or professional means. This can be by incorporating both your personnel and work lives into one and maximizing the benefits of both to reaching a wider community base while not bringing either the company or yourself into disrepute. As many would know this can have its challenge as of the security issues.
The final point that I would like to touch on today is what strategies I will incorporate in order to make this blog as efficient and as accessible to you, the reader to find and get the information that you need. Now some may be thinking why would i do this, well firstly it will not only provide a structure that can be followed in order to create a great Web 2.0 interaction but it also allows for you to see how everything actually comes together.
The four main strategies that I will be using are:
- Posting for the readers: Although to be found on the internet keyword optimization needs to be used, without blogging to a particular cause other then being seen, which social networks have already conquered, there is no real purpose to blogging in the first place.
- Connecting with the audience: “If the contest is interesting but written in a wholly uninteresting way, readers aren’t going to be that thrilled.” (blogtrafficexchange.com/top-blogging-strategies/) Furthermore without aiming and engaging an audience you will solely be writing for the sake of writing. So basically what is needed is an interesting content written in a down to earth and fluent way, so yes at time my blog may be a little informal.
- Submissions and Question’s: One of the most important part of a blog is collaboration and serving a purpose, so where would we be without the ability to let our readers tell us what they would like to help with or even better adding a comment which will ultimately better the message you are trying to put across.
- Sharing: Finally a blog always needs a way for people to find it. The way which i will be going about this is by using both conventional ways of keyword search optimization and the entirely relevant ways of enterprise 2.0 by using social networks such a twitter and facebook to promote my blog.
To end today I would like to share an example of not only a great blog, but an extremely helpful source when it comes Enterprise 2.0. http://enterprise2blog.com/ This blog to me is not only well put together and straight forward but is written in such a formative context that it allows any level of technically minded reader to interpret there own way but still manages to get across the same essential message. This is not only a great technique to incorporate into any sort of writing but it is extremely difficult to go into a topic enough to cover all bases and open up to a much larger community of readers, without compromising the integrity of the blog.
